In the heart of Copenhagen, adjacent to the serene St. Johannes Church, lies Nørre Allé, the city’s compact automated parking facility. As a beacon of the city’s dedication to sustainability, this innovative solution was born out of the necessity to reduce urban congestion and reclaim outdoor spaces for leisure. This project is a part of Copenhagen’s ambitious Carbon Neutrality by 2025 plan, highlighting the city’s proactive approach to environmental stewardship.
To create a more environmentally friendly urban landscape and mitigate the challenges of limited parking and increased traffic, the City of Copenhagen embarked on a mission to revolutionize its parking infrastructure. The goal was to design and implement an automated parking system that maximizes space efficiency, reduces environmental impact, and enhances user experience.
At the core of Nørre Allé’s transformation is Westfalia’s advanced parking solution. Utilizing a strategic blend of transfer cabins, lifting Satellite® transfer cars, vertical lifts, and double-deep storage, Westfalia’s technology seamlessly integrates to optimize space utilization and streamline parking operations. Powered by the innovative Savanna.NET® software, this automated system minimizes human intervention while maximizing efficiency, setting a new standard for urban parking excellence.
