Westfalia Technologies is seeking a full-time Purchasing Assistant to provide support to our Purchasing Department. This is an opportunity to join a positive team environment in a growing company.
Job Duties:
- Compare department acknowledgements to purchase orders in order to verify accuracy of pricing, as well as delivery dates. Update P.O.’s and preferred vendor files as needed.
- Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
- Research and compare pricing, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine best bid amount among potential suppliers for maintenance, repair and operations materials.
- Prepare purchase orders for MRO items; send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
- Contact Suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
- Assist in Sales Order and MRP buying as needed.
- Complete inventory adjustments.
- Create and update weekly Purchasing Department agenda, complete and distribute meeting notes and follow up on departmental task list.
- Complete special projects as required.

- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
- Required
- Computer literacy (MS Excel, Outlook, Word, internet)
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be able to read and write proficiently in English
- Desired
- Experience using an ERP system
- Knowledge of German language
- Expediting experience
Benefit Information:
Medical/Prescription, Dental, Vision and Group Term Life are offered after 30 days of employment. Vacation and 401(k) are offered based on length of service.
