PLC Programmer

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a PLC Programmer.  The position of PLC Programmer is responsible for performing assigned tasks and projects as designated by the Controls Engineering Department.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Developing PLC code based on department standards
  • Adapting standard PLC code to new applications
  • Documenting PLC code
  • Developing HMI configurations
  • Debugging and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems at customer sites
  • Control system testing
  • Control system commissioning
  • Coordinating PLC programming with control systems and mechanical design

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiar with Allen-Bradley and VFD hardware
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency with Rockwell programming software and hardware, such as Logix500, Logix5000, Panelview and Factory Talk View (HMI)
  • Have an understanding of DeviceNet & Industrial Ethernet
  • Have an understanding of the function and operation of mechanical hardware used for material handling systems

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Westfalia Technologies operational processes
  • Willingness to travel 40 – 50% to customer sites
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Fluency in Spanish or German is a plus
