From the founding of our sister company in Germany, to the incorporation of Westfalia Technologies in the U.S., we have grown into a leading automation provider with a reputation for excellence and innovation. Our success has been shaped not only by the dedication of our employees but also by the satisfaction of our customers, many of whom have returned to Westfalia for repeat business.

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. (or Westfalia USA) was born and immediately after incorporation, the company acquired Thompson Equipment Machine Company (Temco) of York. Temco was secured to provide Westfalia with a solid base of operations for the design, manufacturing and servicing of the automated storage/retrieval system (AS/RS) equipment.

Introduction of Satellite® Technology

Since opening the doors, Westfalia Technologies’ vision has been to introduce a European-designed line of automated storage equipment to the North and South American markets. Originally developed by Westfalia Germany in 1978, the first AS/RS was installed in a brewery in Herford Germany, Herforder-Pils, which is still in operation today using all original equipment. Since this first system, the design has been refined and has evolved into the patented Satellite® technology we use to this day.

Launching Savanna.NET® WES

As the value of automation began to grow, manufacturers and distributors realized the importance of a robust software system to run their operations as efficiently as possible. Recognizing this need, Westfalia developed a unique warehouse execution system (WES) software, known as Savanna.NET®. Combining the robust management features of a WMS with the automation control components of a WCS, the Savanna.NET® WES is a flexible software solution that provides unparalleled control over the entire warehouse; providing maximum system flexibility and an unprecedented user experience.

Expanding our product offerings with Automated Parking

Capitalizing on its core competencies and success in warehouse automation, Westfalia expanded its services to offer fully automatic parking solutions. Westfalia's first pallet-supported parking system was installed in 2001 in Europe. Following a series of successes and new innovations in parking technology, Westfalia introduced its new palletless parking design to the US in 2017.

Today, Westfalia Technologies and Westfalia Europe operate as sister companies and are both key players in automated material handling and logistics. Collectively, both companies employ nearly 500 employees around the globe that embody the automation and customer service experience that is intentional, consistent, differentiated and valuable for each customer. Westfalia is dedicated to helping companies in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and other major industries optimize warehouse processes and maximize efficiencies and savings.
